Our staff need to be passionate but reflective; skilled and motivated by growth; student-focused with emotional resilience and a commitment to working with those who have barriers to completing their education in mainstream school settings. We need staff who want to work specifically in this kind of environment, who have an understanding of Trauma-Sensitive Practice along with positive psychology, and know that traditional school environments and teaching methods don’t always work for all students.
